BOGIA MP John Hickey was put as a special prayer point on Wednesday in Madang to deliver government services to his people.

A group of women from his electorate, who stood and held hands together during the national haus krai (house of mourning) gathering at Bates Oval, said government services were not delivered in the their district and has contributed to so much law and order problems for the last 20 years.

They said health services and facilities have ran down, roads and transport problems have greatly affected the people and women especially were having hard times in seeking better services.

Food crops cash crops could not be transported due to bad road conditions and transport needs and police were not given assistance and fully equipped to curve law and order situations in the district.

“We prayed that God in his almighty wisdom, inspire our MP, John Hickey to look into our hardships and deliver the services that rightly belongs to us,” they said.

Bogia district administrator John Nobi said Hickey had highlighted many development plans for the district during his March JDP&BPC meeting.

Nobi said Hickey’s plans to improve the district were made known after reconciliation between him and public servants in Bogia in March this year.

He added that a police 10 seater trooper vehicle, donated by Madang Governor Jim Kas, would be driven to Bogia today to boost police operations in the district.
