REPORTS of investigations into the five scientists who went missing in West New Britain province will be tabled in parliament today, Internal Security Minister John Boito said.
He said police had been sent to Kimbe to investigate the disappearance of the scientists at sea.
The scientists – three women and two men – were on their way to conduct research on Bali Island when they went missing a year ago. They are Leonard Vavana, Gibson Gideon, George Dagoya, Tania Oakiva and Lydia Petrus.
It is believed they were hijacked by pirates in the area but their whereabouts remained a mystery as a police search and rescue operation failed to find them.
