FORMER Mr PNG contestant Steve Bomal is now on the comeback trail for next month’s National Bodybuilding Championships in Kokopo after seven years away from the stage.

The experienced Bomal is determined to claim the title currently held by Lucas Wemin.

Bomal is preparing a female bodybuilder, Missa Asitore, along with nine other male counterparts from Eastern Highlands and Chimbu to participate in the championships.

They are training in Goroka and his aim is to make an impact on his return by winning the Mr PNG title.

Bomal dropped off the scene in 2009 because of training-related injuries but has now fully recovered and is raring to go pose for pose with Wemin and other top bodybuilders.

“I will lead Eastern Highlands and Chimbu teams, and I’m hoping to win the title,” Bomal said.

He appealed for financial assistance to fly the team to Kokopo next month.
