THE abandoned Kamkumung sports field that once played host to off-season rugby league will get a new lease on life thanks to Lae Biscuit Company.
Managing director Sir Henry Chow made the announcement following the company’s announcement to sponsor the Lae Bombers rugby league team in next year’s inter-city competition.
Lae Biscuit had been involved in sporting activities all over the country in the past 26 years and we will continue to assist the youths to take part in sports,” Sir Henry said.
“We are holding discussions with Lae Urban LLG to acquire the title to the abandoned sports oval and will a significant amount of money to develop it into a sports venue to eventually be the home of Snax Bombers,” he added.
Meanwhile he further explained that Lae Biscuit would continue to support the Ipatas Cup in the country by sponsoring the referees.
“We will sponsor the referee’s  uniformswith the motto ‘No Ref, No Game’ and appeal to all teams and officials to respect that,” he said.
