THE Lae Aviat Corporate Darts Association (LACDA) was finally given the chance to get on MV Alotau Queen to travel to the PNG National dart titles in Oro by Nawaeb Open MP Timothy Bonga.
Bonga donated K5,000 which was presented to the association on his behalf by his daughter Martha Bonga during the weekend.
Bonga’s assistance came in response to a public appeal.
The appeal made after funding requests by LACDA were turned down by businesses in Lae.
The funding came just in time to complete the registration fees and travel costs as well as cater for food and accommodation during the games.
Some of the money was given to LACDA’s sister association, Ahi Darts, to assist them meet similar costs.
During the presentation Bonga presented the money and urged LACDA to strive to retain the title which they won at Kavieng in 2008.
LACDA president Nigel Kiaka commended the MP for his commitment to the association as well as his continued assistance to such events.
“Please pass our most sincere gratitude to the honourable member for making it possible for the association to have a chance to participate in and most importantly to defend the national dart title won 2008,” Kiaka said.
“We also got assistance from  Lae Biscuit, Prima Continental Smallgoods and Taubmans and Niugini Tablebirds.”
The PNG national dart titles started last Monday and ends tomorrow.
