THE Port Moresby Adventist Book Centre (ABC) will be hosting its annual open day on Sunday.

The ABC Open Day is an important event for Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Churches throughout the South Pacific where ABCs, including Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands, New Zealand and Australia, observe the day between Oct and Dec.

Port Moresby ABC will host its 24th open day at the SDA church yard at Ela Beach.

Emily Lassah, the supervisor for Port Moresby ABC, said the worldwide Adventist church mission was to prepare people for Heaven.

“The ABC, under the publishing ministry, has been helping to prepare people through the selling of books, CDs, tracts, DVDs and other Christian items,” she said

Once every year their publishing houses give ABC books at low prices and they are expected to pass on the specials to people.

Their focus sale for this year is the Bible.

“If we have to prepare people for heaven, as is our mission, we cannot do it without the Bible,” Lassah said.

“There is a Bible for everyone in the family and we believe every parent will take the opportunity to buy Bibles for their children.

“We would like to believe that by the end of this year, everyone in Port Moresby will have a Bible.”

It will be a shame if we did not take this “golden opportunity”, she said.
