SUPER sub Jeffrey Kanau scored the only goal for Borea as they edged out Baggas 1-0 in the Port Moresby premier soccer match at the weekend.

Dubbed as clash of the Rigos, Borea led by Santo Nauga, Koteps Girana and striker Jonto David played their guts out to shut out Baggas.

Striker David was a marked man throughout the match.

He was shadowed by Baggas defenders on every play and given little space to attack.

In the first half, both teams cancelled the other other out in an even tussle that saw a 0-0 scoreline at the break. However, Borea had other ideas when they brought on Kanau who slammed the winner in the 55th minute.

Baggas had couple of chances through David Makin, Eddie Alfred, Nataniel Pangoe and Leon Wayade but Borea defenders Mindex Rukina, Nauga and Deffy Gobono were up to its task.

In the other match, Global Sea Eagles drew with PJB Warriors 1-1 while Golo registered 2-0 over Moonbi.

Golo coach Maino Kwalimu  said it was the day his striker Laka Amini will not forget when he powered home two shots to find the back of the net.

Results: Borea 1 Baggas 0, Sea Eagles 1 Warriors 1, Golo 2 Moonbi, Guria 4 Keleriruna1, Saints 2 Kings 1, Dilika 4 Tarangau 1.
