Boroko Motors, Isuzu launch heavy vehicle models

BOROKO Motors and Isuzu proudly launch the new heavy vehicle models of the C and E series in Lae on Monday.
The modifications to the engine and body of these models is to improve performance and increase efficiency in order to save operational costs for owners.
The improvements were done to the EXZ 6×4 prime mover, the CYH 8×4 twin steer cab-chassis and the CYZ 6×4 dump and cab-chassis.
The cabins of these models now have an improved aerodynamic design and open front grill to allow better ventilation for the engine, reducing wind resistance thereby lowering fuels cost.
There has also been a relocation of the air tank in the tipper chassis to minimise the wear and tear to the air tank.
The new designs include an increased gross vehicle mass (GVM) which means increased carrying capacity for the prime mover and twin steer.
Isuzu has been in the country for more than 20 years.
Isuzu vehicles come in a range from utilities through to heavy trucks.
The new CYZ dump truck was a collaboration between Isuzu and ShinMaywa, a leading Japanese body fabrication company that exports to more than 50 countries.
Isuzu trucks were introduced into the PNG market 22 years ago and now account for 60 per cent of the truck market.
The launch of these models on Monday was the start of a week-long visit of the Isuzu Japan team, who are in PNG to also run free Isuzu truck inspections during service clinics in Port Moresby and Lae.
Japanese engineers will be working alongside Boroko Motors service teams to do these inspections.
