A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy was lost in Madang town for several hours before he was reunited with his mother who was frantically searching for him on Saturday.
Madang commander Acting Supt Mazuc Rubiang said the boy was found wandering in town by a man from Bogia who took him to Talidig police station.
“Police then sent out an alert to look for the boy’s parents.
“The boy’s photo was also posted on WhatsApp.
“A policeman, after viewing the message was walking towards the fish market when he came across a woman who was looking sad and wanted to tell him something.
“He then asked the woman why she was worried and she told him that she had lost her son and was looking for him.
“The policeman showed her the photo of the child that was posted by Talidig police and the woman broke into tears and said that was her son,” he added.
Acting Supt Rubiang said taskforce members then helped send the mother to Talidig police station.
