Boy needs K20,000 for brain surgery

THE parents of seven-year-old Starnsfilled Ishmael, who suffers from a brain tumour, are appealing for help.
The boy of Noia village, Pangia, Southern Highlands province, who is in elementary one at Mt Hagen Tee Primary School, in Western Highlands province, was diagnosed with the life-threatening disease early this year.
His parents, Ishmael Simon and wife Rachel, were alerted when they saw that their son could not move his eyes.
They took Ishmael to the Kudjip Nazarene Hospital, in Jiwaka, where doctors confirmed that their son had a brain tumour and needed to go to Port Moresby for treatment.
The news shocked the parents as Starnsfilled is their first born.
They are now working hard to find the K20,000 for medical expenses.
Simon said he was a subsistence farmer who sometimes worked as a casual worker and did not know where to find the money to help his son.
He said he no option but to believe in the power of prayer to save his son.
He said as a parent he was trying to make sure his son received the best treatment.
Simon said his family members were fundraising but needed all the help they could get.
