UNIVERSITY of Technology Vice-Chancellor Dr Albert Schram has denied that he incited or influence students into boycotting classes.
He was responding to claims by court-appointed acting Chancellor Ralph Saulep that he had influenced students to boycott
classes. Schram said via email from Australia where he was awaiting his employment visa he had been trying to resolve the problem quickly and minimise the time lost by students and
staff.
“Together with staff and students, I cannot write a new chapter in Unitech history while I am in
Australia,” he said.
“I was therefore obviously referring to the period when I am back on campus and the boycott is therefore over.
“This is a silly and baseless allegation made by Saulep, similar to the other allegations he made regarding my academic credentials and supposedly false identity.
“I never asked students to boycott classes for me.
“I am very much aware that for most it is their only chance to receive a higher education and thus probably become taxpaying professionals in the country or leaders
in their fields.
“I write my blog and on my Facebook page under my own name, and there is no evidence whatsoever I called for a class boycott, or encouraged it to continue.
“Obviously I cannot be held responsible for what other people write anonymously on their blogs.”
