BANK of Papua New Guinea (BPNG) sees potential in the multi-million Lae tidal basin project and the economic benefits it would bring to the business community in the province.
During a visit to Lae recently, BPNG Governor Loi Bakani said the project was a clear example of successful infrastructure development much needed in PNG.
“The bank recognises the significant economic benefits that this project brings to the people and business community in Lae, to our nation, as well as to the Pacific region,” Bakani said.
Bakani said BPNG was applauding the PNG Ports Corporation for its ongoing efforts in improving the port facilities in Lae and other centres to world standard.”
He said more jobs could be generated with the improved port facilities.
