SOUTH Pacific Brewery is sponsoring one of their employees who has  been selected to represent the country in the Oceania Hockey World Cup Qualifiers in Fiji

Monica Wadi, 27, (pictured), from Manus, and who is employed as purchasing officer, received much needed support from her employer.

Corporate affairs manager Reg Monagi announced the brewery was giving Wadi K1,000.

“On behalf of the SP Brewery management we commend Monica on representing Papua New Guinea for the second time and wish her and the women’s hockey team the best of luck,” Monagi said.

Wadi started playing hockey five years ago and her first representative duty was in 2011 in the Oceania Pacific Cup in Fiji.

“I’ve played many sports; soccer, volleyball, bowling and then hockey, which captured my attention because of the unique skills involved and the mental toughness needed,” Wadi said.
