Brewer gives K20,000 for women’s award

SOUTH Pacific Brewery is sponsoring the Westpac Women in Business Awards “SP Brewery Entrepreneur Award” for 2012.
Its general manager Stan Joyce said the company was proud to be associated with the awards.
He gave a cheque for K20,000 to Westpac yesterday.
Joyce said the award recognised the achievements of women who had at least 50% shareholding in organisations.
He said the company’s involvement in sports, cultural activities and awareness on responsible drinking and gender equity proved its continuous support for community initiatives.
He said the Westpac Women In Business Awards was an appropriate tool to promote and at the same time acknowledge the efforts of women in the development of Papua New Guinea.
Bank managing director Ashleigh Matheson commended the company for its ongoing support in development.
Matheson said the awards were aimed at all women, including young achievers.
