THE South Pacific (SP) Brewery is committed to addressing social issues by promoting the responsible consumption of its alcoholic products.
SP Brewery managing director Ed Weggemans was speaking during the launching of Heineken 0.0, a non-alcoholic beer yesterday.
“The introduction of a non-alcoholic beer is a testament to the brewery’s bold strategy,” he said.
“This empowers our customers with a choice and options for all their drinking occasions and addresses the global trend around the importance of living a balanced life.
“As pioneering brewers in Papua New Guinea since 1952, we are committed to introducing new and innovative products to meet and develop consumer needs.”
He said the Heineken 0.0 had been a success in all the markets where it was introduced.
“We expect this to be replicated in PNG driven by great innovation on brewing technique and taste,” he said.
“Heineken 0.0 is a refreshing non-alcoholic lager, brewed with a unique recipe for a distinct balanced taste, which allows you to enjoy a Heineken beer at any time of the day and in any setting.
“The alcohol free beer segment is nonexistent in PNG.
“Our ambition is to lead the category development here with a premium proposition from a brand that consumers are proud to be seen with. We take our responsibility extremely seriously and, although Heineken 0.0 does not contain alcohol, we do not target consumers below the legal drinking age.”
