Brian Bell opens Lae plaza

Business

BRIAN Bell has opened a plaza in Lae designed to set a standard for retail development in the country.
Two years after losing its home centre shop to a fire, Brian Bell built a bigger mall on the site to cater for its customers in Lae.
The shopping complex’s second floor has a restaurant, cafe, health and beauty spa, banking facilities and stores.
Executive director for Brian Bell Ian Clough said the new home centre was bigger and better with a wide range of items.
He said they had invested heavily to set up the business in Lae because it was strategically located for customers in the Mamose and the Highlands regions.
“We want to ensure that customers of these regions have access to the best that we can provide and this also reflects our commitment to Morobe and Papua New Guinea,” he said.
The building was opened by Morobe Governor Kelly Naru witnessed by representatives of the public and private sectors in Lae and Port Moresby, including  suppliers who arrived from overseas.
Clough told The National that the new home centre was one of Brian Bell’s largest.
“We will provide world-class products to our customers and we look forward to growing our business relationships with them,” he said.
Naru described the magnificent shopping complex as a great achievement for the company.
“It is very challenging for a business to rise from the ashes to build a first class building,” he said.
“I congratulate Brian Bell for setting up a standard for other businesses to follow.”
