BRIAN Bell Group chief executive officer Cameron Mackellar says the company is proud to have its Gordon’s Plaza being fully tenanted with 21 new retailers since the opening last year.
Commenting on the Plaza’s first anniversary since redevelopment and opening Mackellar said: “We’ve maintained that position despite all of the challenges of this past 12 months or so.
“We have already ticked-over 12 months in the new Gordon’s Plaza and time has gone quickly and we couldn’t be happier with the impact the location has had on the Port Moresby retail landscape,” he said.
“Although challenging at times and a number of disruptions to our customers at the time of construction, we managed to maintain our Homecentre operations throughout the re-development.
“Our tenants of course are critical to the success of the Plaza and all appear to be enjoying the new facilities as much as we are and most importantly an increase in customer traffic to everyone.
“Jeanz Cafe has been a revelation and must be one of the most frequented cafés in Port Moresby.
“It offers great value which is why it’s so popular, but also the surroundings and great service from the exceptional Jeanz café team really help create and enjoyable locations for families and friends to catch up, enjoy a meal and socialise.
“Naturally, there’s lots on offer throughout Gordon’s Plaza from styled hair-cuts to exotic gifting items to musical instruments, a bakery, a garden centre, mobile phones, fine wine, health food, pharmacy services and many other products and services as well.”
He said the Homecentre’s annual car park sale last month saw other Plaza retailers participate enjoying significant foot traffic the sale brought to the location.
