THE Brian Bell Group after a massive Christmas trading period, is currently running a K50 million clearance sale to make room for new stock for the New Year, according to chief executive officer Cameron Mackellar.
“It’s typical for most retailers to look at a clearance programme in January to make room for new stock in 2020,” he said.
“We always like to reward our customers with bargains so inevitably we discount as much as we possibly can to entice customers back after a busy Christmas period.
“Being a large retailer, we carry a very large inventory and in order to turn it over and introduce new product lines we have to make space – hence a big clearance sale period.”
Mackellar said there was plenty of bargains for everyone.
“We will not only have our K50 million clearance sale but we will also introduce a special clearance and obsolescence sale in mid-January,” he said.
“We are preparing for it now and a new venue and location to be announced in the next two weeks.
“This will be massive and everything must go.

“All goods priced to sell and clear out.”
Mackellar said the K50mil clearance sales would run for whole of the month, or while stocks last, and was applicable to all the Brian Bell Homecentres in the country.
“Customers need to get in quickly if they want to grab the best bargains,” he said.
“However, the special two-week obsolescence sale in mid-January will just be for that period only.
“As soon as it’s finalised and set up, we will announce the location here in Port Moresby.”
Mackellar said the clearance sale applied to all the categories from major appliances, agriculture, furniture, homewares, electrical, small appliances, giftware, sporting and all other categories.
“Nearly everything will have a sale price as we want to get rid of it and move in new products,” he said.
“Christmas was a great finish for us in 2019 and we look forward to another positive year in 2020.”
Customer Saina Kulame said the clearance sale was really good as Brian Bell sold quality products and it was a good opportunity to buy more products.
Another customer Balu Ulea also shared the same sentiments.
“It is the right time to do clearance sales where we can afford to purchase items at reduced prices.”
Mackellar said they would continue to surprise their customers with even more value, bigger and better sale periods, new and exciting product lines and occasional promotional event.
