Bribery becoming social norm

Letters

REFERRING to The National’s editorial on December 11, let me tell you that my wife and I now put bribery as part of our budget apart from bus fares, lunch and others whenever we are planning to visit any Government or non-government departments/offices.
To add fuel to fire, an old man in the village will not resist any attempts to bribe him for his vote.
The old man did not realise but he is telling the young ones that corruption is alright.
Corruption has grown roots in PNG. We do not know it but we are educating our future generations to allow corruption to defeat us.
We the people of PNG must understand that right cannot be wrong and wrong cannot be right.
Remember when we become lenient, we must be prepared to face revolt or the rebellious who hate corruption.
