City sponsor hosts luncheon
SPONSOR of the Toti City, Lae Biscuit Company, hosted a presentation luncheon for club players, coinciding with 2019 awards that saw 13 recipients recognised. Award recipients were Peter Gunemba (coach of the year), Raymond Gunemba (leadership and best forward), Valentine Nelson (leadership), Alwin Manase (junior player of the year), Makis Gelmal (fair play), Peter Dabinyaba Jr (most improved), Emmanuel Simon (most valuable player of the Year and best midfielder), Nigel Dabinyaba (top scorer), Jacob Sabua (best midfilder), Mosie Milubwa (best defender) and Ronald Warisan (best goalkeeper). Franchise owner and chairman of Lae Biscuit Company Ian Chow said: I want to congratulate all of you, it’s been a very good season.”

Bians triumph in Markham
THE YAROOS Soccer Association in the Umi-Atzera local level government of Markham came alive last weekend with their pre-season soccer grandfinals. The grandfinal was witnessed by associate members’ president Shem Farrock from the Wau Football Association as representative of full member association of Papua New Guinea Football Association. Yaroos started their pre-season straight after their players finished from the National Soccer League season with Markham FC. The association’s four teams, both men’s and women’s, went through the finals. In women’s division, Bians beat Zura 2-0 and in the men’s grand final, Bians beat BMS 1-0.
