Call for NID offices
NATIONAL Identification Department (NID) project volunteers are asking if several sub-offices can be set up at Local Level Governments to speed up the registration process before the census. Two volunteers in Western Highlands Kiyaka Minyako from Mul-Baiyer and Michael Mek from Mt Hagen say they had witnessed the need for the sub-offices to give the people a better chance to register.

B’ville referendum
AUTONOMOUS Region of Bougainville (AROB) president John Momis said that all the 19 years of hard work would be wasted if the Bougainville Peace Agreement (BPA) was not implemented by having the referendum. “The BPA not only deals about our future but also provides adequate funding to AROB,” Momis said.

Police hunt man
LAE police are looking for a man who allegedly cheated PNG Concrete Aggregate of K29,000 worth of cement, provincial police commander Alex N’Drasal said. The suspect went to the company between April and July on different occasions and ordered cement but did not honour any payment and is now on the run.

EMTV to go to Hela
TELEVISION company EMTV will soon put up a transmitter in Tari, Hela, thanks to the local government. Hela Governor Philip Undialu presented K350,000 to EMTVfor the transmitter in town.
