Escapee recaptured
A 21-YEAR-OLD male from Central, who escaped from Bomana jail, Port Moresby in September has been arrested by CID Boroko. Egonomie Philip from Enivologo village in the Rigo district was charged with armed robbery. According to Police, Philip and his accomplices were planning to carry out other robberies leading into the festive period. Philip would be returned back to the Bomana facility.

Drunk patrol commenced
OPERATION Drunk-Patrol targeting illegal liquor sales and drunk and disorderly behaviour, has commenced in Port Moresby on Friday. By 7.30pm, men found drinking in public places will be apprehended by Police and will be detained. Acting Divisional Commander assistant commissioner NCD/Central Anthony Wagambie (Jr) has commended the initiative by Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’dranou. This initiative is specifically aimed at addressing illegal liquor trade, ethnic clashes, crime and all forms of violence induced by alcohol binging.
