Alcohol sale ban
NCD acting city manager Ravu Frank has confirmed that the sale and consumption of liquor will be banned in Port Moresby for the duration and a potential extension of the state of emergency. Ravu said the ban was meant to discourage city residents to move around unnecessarily. “Consuming liquor will make people move around and that defeat the primary strategy of restricting movement of people by the Government.”

Stay home
NCD Governor Powes Parkop said it was really important that NCD residents stayed at home and minimised their movements in and around the city. Parkop urged people to call the national hotline centre (1800200) to report cases of high fever, dry cough and shortness of breath.
