Educationist dies
AN educationist in the East New Britain administration passed away recently after participating in Covid-19 awareness programmes at the Duke of York Island. Avin Ilai, 54, from Nakukur village in the Duke of York Island local level government, Kokopo, was recently appointed district education coordinator.

Focus on family
East New Britain (ENB) deputy governor Cosmas Bauk says the Covid-19 pandemic has made people focus on their families. He added that the whole of ENB was going back to gardening and keeping themselves busy.

PPEs received
In their continued partnership to support New Ireland, Newcrest and Australian Doctors International delivered a second round of equipment to the New Ireland Health Authority. Dr Penny Charles, the authority’s director of curative services, on receiving the supplies, said: “The management and staff of Kavieng Provincial Hospital are grateful for these medical supplies. The PPE will be utilised accordingly.”

ExxonMobil PNG as operator of PNG LNG, along with Chiyoda Oceania Pty Ltd, has supported the Central Health Authority’s long-term healthcare preparedness efforts with a donation of triage tents, infra-red thermometers and surgical masks. Keith Killian, executive director of ExxonMobil said: “Healthcare preparedness requires ongoing community education on the benefits of practising good hygiene.”
