Board wants acquittals
THE National Gaming and Control Board has urged all organisations and individuals who have received financial assistance from its community benefit fund “Give back programme’ from 2012 to 2018 to acquit this funds. The board said that numerous notices have been published however the response has been poor. It warned that persons who fail to adhere to this notice will be referred to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and/or possible prosecution

Delay raises concerns
JOHN Balg, the council president for Muglamp local level government, in Dei district, Western Highlands, is concerned about the prolong delay in releasing its outstanding allowances for the councilors. Balg speaking on behalf of his 26 councilors said the the issue of writs for the LLG election was schdeudled for April 25 and they were still waiting for their allowances. “The money is already released and majority of LLGs in the country
receive their outstanding allowances but, we are still waiting,” he said. He said that his councilors didn’t received their allowances since 2013 till this year.

Call for unity made
A LOCAL leader from Pogera has called on the people of Pogera to stand united and form one single entity and speak for and on behalf of the people.
Dr Sam Yockopua said that the people of Porgera had suffered enough for the last 30 years, and this was the golden moment that they had been waiting for. “At the closure of the expiry date of the Mining License, the mining must cease to exist and all landowners must form one single entity and speak for and on behalf of the people, not for yourselves,” Yockopua said.
