Bring back normalcy

Letters

THERE has been strong calls for the Government to open the domestic economy to operate normally by May.
Calls have also been made to have all international entry points (land, sea and air) be strictly controlled to ensure proper quarantine protocols for Covid-19 are followed.
Covid-19 is not suffocating the bulk of the population at this stage but the lack of cash flow within the formal and informal settings of the economy.
Some urban dwellers have been displaced by tribal warfare over unresolved land disputes while there is not enough land for some to be accommodated into their traditional family land.
However, PNG is still faced with the challenge to free up the vast customary land for large scale farming and food processing estates.
This is anticipated to create multiplier effects to absorb the pressure of the population growth at 2.4 per cent per annum.
