Bring back Yopyyopy

Letters

I HAVE taught for more than 25 years as a teacher and later moved to the headquarters to serve the Education Department as a senior education officer.
In my entire 36 years as a public servant, I have seen ministers who have come and gone.
Many of those ministers were very close to us, the public servants – meaning they even knew our names no matter what position we held, drivers, junior or senior officers.
One of those ministers was the former minister Joseph Yopyyopy.
He knew the names of senior officers and would call meetings to talk to us.
He would even come out of his office and visit officers at their work stations.
We want him back.
Although he is not a trained teacher, he is one of those best ministers. We are finding it hard with the current minister.
His office is a no-go zone, unless you make an appointment with the secretary through strict protocol rules.
