Britain approaches commended

Letters

BRITAIN have earned an envious reputation of addressing the most complex global challenges which eradicating poverty to limiting the impact of climate change and environmental degradation through its international aid.
The public hold that dear.
Eradicating poverty, ending instability and creating a safer and more prosperous world are firmly in the UK’s national interest.
This is why the UK’s leadership on development is an important part of the government’s vision for a secure and prosperous United Kingdom with global reach and influence.
If Britain give up on international aid, its influence globally will be greatly diluted and will not be able to strengthen global peace, security and governance.
Britain should not stop giving aid because its aid is significantly helping to eliminate extreme poverty and support the world’s poorest people to ensure that every person has access to basic needs, including prioritising the rights of girls and women.
This build security, stability and opportunity that will benefit us all.
