BROTHERS have appointed Pauline Solomon as the first female vice-president of the Port Moresby Rugby Football League (POMRFL) club.
Solomon, a senior officer with the Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Authority, was given the nod in a decision by club executives last month.
“I have been one of the biggest supporters of rugby league and especially this club,” she said.
“My husband, Andrew Solomon, was a former player with the club.
“He has always been a part of the club management as an administrator.
“I’m new to this role so I’m asking for the undivided support of the club executives, players and officials.
“This will be another challenge that I am willing to take up with my family behind me.
“I know I can reach my potential in this male-dominated field and I’m ready to serve in this new role.”
Welcoming her on board was Brothers president and new Credit Corporation chairman Richard Sinamoi.
“I’m happy to have a woman who has come on board in the male-dominated field,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to working with her and the rest of the executives in the 2021 season.”
