BROTHERS bagged their third-straight Capital Rugby Union title on Saturday after finishing first with 39 points following the 10th and final round of the season.
Despite a six-point lead in the competition, Brothers capped off the final round of competition with a 24-14 win over the second-placed Credit Corp Harlequins to square the ledger following the reigning champions’ opening-round loss to the Billy Rapilla-coached side.
Under the guidance of Arthur Clement and Jonah Kautu in the halves, Brothers established their dominance with a 12-0 lead in the opening half.

The Harlies were hit with injuries to key personnel in the second half with Desmond Korpok, Nelson Vagi and Danny Opa leaving the field.
But an improved attack saw Willie Kalai and Heni Billy cross over for two converted tries.
Brothers pushed through for hooker George Wai to score before flyhalf Clement sealed the match with their fourth try.
“It’s a very good feeling for us,” Brothers coach Joe Kautu said.
“This is what we look forward to all season.
“Beating the Harlequins in the final round caps off an outstanding campaign for us and we’re proud of our third-straight title.
“It’s been a short and tough season for us, we lost to the Harlequins in the first round.
“But despite knowing we were going to be declared winners, we really wanted to beat the Harlequins to settle the scores and we did that.
“I’m proud of my players and everyone involved at the club.”
