Brothers, Storms earn gold passes worth K50,000

IPATAS Cup Southern Challenge winners White Haven Lagaip Brothers and Six-Mile Storms have earned gold passes to Lae for the semi-finals against from March 14- 16.

Brothers beat Ira Lais 16-12 while the Storms edged out Dep Eels 6-4 in the Southern semi-finals at the Sir Bill Skate Memorial Oval at Kaugere on Sunday.

Both matches were played in the spirit of sportsmanship with discipline, fair but hard play the feature of the games at the Sir Bill Skate Memorial Oval in Kaugere.

The experienced Brothers outfit were forced to their limits by the hungry Ira Lais who were unlucky to lose the main challenge.

The semi-finalists were given K500 each while the pool winners Paga, Magani, Storms and Brothers had bonus of K1,000 each.

 Brothers and Storms bagged the gold pass package of K50,000 for Southern leg. The money with cover towards airfares, accommodation and meals. 

The New Guinea Islands Challenge winners also received the same amount. The other region’w winners get K20,000.

The winners than qualify for the preliminary finals from March 21- 23 in Banz, Jiwaka, with the the grand final the following week in Lae which is likely to be reconfirmed by the organisers.
