BANK South Pacific outclassed Kina Bank 24-17 in the Private Companies Netball Competition major semifinal at the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex yesterday.
The win saw BSP book the first grand final spot with the winners of the Kina Bank-Moore Printing preliminary final on Saturday deciding who face the green machine.
BSP with the shooting combination of Jacklyn Hape and veteran Renagi Mulina were in good form from the start to final whistle.
The bankers shot out to a 13-5 lead by halftime.
Hape’s strike rate was good as she hit 19 of 25 attempts with support from Mulina.
Centre Vavine Raula, wing attack Vele Iamo and wing defence Gorethy Semi combined well in mid-court to keep the bankers shooters fed while making life hard for Kina’s offence.
Kina Bank shooters Rata Raula and Kula Iamo were starved of opportunities in the first half as play broke down at mid court.
In the second half, Kina’s Bianca Babaga, Lesley Kilala and Rose Karo regained the ascendency which saw Raula get her hands on the ball more but in the end the halftime deficit was too great to overcome.
Kina outscored BSP 12-11 in the second stanza.
