THE Bank South Pacific (BSP) will donate a total of K12,526 to charity groups in the country.
The one-hour “hug-a-banker” promotion last Nov 17 with a matching K1 donation recorded a total of 7,041 hugs in the branches around the country.
Added to this were the 338 new BSP accounts opened and a further 759 new short message service (SMS) banking registrations received for a total of 1,097 transactions at K5 each, which amounted to K12,526.
Nuni Kulu, manager to the chief executive’s office, said the promotion was “certainly a campaign with a difference and one that had instilled a closer, more friendly relationship between the bank and its many valued customers”.
It also created a closer friendship between BSP staff, the bank said.
“It just goes to show that you really can love your bank,” Ms Kulu said.
“Love your bank” promotional items were also handed out to customers who hugged bankers.
