MOORE Printing dethroned Bank South Pacific (BSP) 29-23 in the Private Companies Netball Competition grand final at the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex in Port Moresby on Sunday.
The new premiers shocked BSP, who were gunning for their 8th straight premiership.
Leading 9-5, 15-11, 19-11, Moore Printing collected another 10 points to the opposition’s 12 in the final quarter to walk away with the title.
Moore Printing’s Lily Kila and Louise Maliaki contributed 23 and six points respectively.
Violet Jack (C), Kaika Kada (WD) Manu Sina (WA), Venau Aka (GK) and Nerrie Adula (GD) all combined well to thwart the opposition’s moves.
BSP, with shooters Jacklyn Hape and Renagi Dringo were starved of possession due to handling errors in the mid-court.
Hape and Dringo scored 16 and seven points respectively.
Moore Printing stand-in coach Julianne Maliaki played her cards right in defence and attack to clinch the win.
“I told my players to get the small things right to win,” Maliaki said.
“We have current Pepe Adula and former representative Sina who used their experience to guide the team around the court.”
