THE Bank of South Pacific has paid K50,000 to the Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) PNG for its conferences around the country this year.
The bank in a statement said it was in support of building financial specialists in accounting, banking and management.
The CPA conferences will be held in Kokopo on June 21, Lae on Aug 21 and 22, and in Port Moresby on Nov 21 and 22.
BSP Head of Financial Reporting Douna Vaname said it was important for finance and banking professionals to come together regularly to share ideas, experiences and expertise.
“Our continued sponsorship reinforces our drive to support and build Papua New Guinean professionals, build respect and recognition in the profession they choose,” Vaname said.
CPA organising committee official Jeff Undah thanked BSP for its ongoing support in the past 18 years.
“As in previous years, the conference will attract finance and accounting professionals in PNG as well as international accountants,” he said.
“It is indeed an important event for us as it also challenges PNG’s young and influential professionals to do better in delivering quality services.
“This year we look at improving and promoting business growth in our profession.”
