BSP must resolve long queue issue
The National, Tuesday July 15th, 2014
EVERY fortnight on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the queue at the bank is as far as the super value store entrance and sometimes, people make double lines like a coiling snake.
BSP is doing a great job in providing services and has also created accounts for students, the unemployed and employed.
In Goroka, there are many ATMs, they only show balances and does not give out cash most of the time, so there are long queues in the main BSP building in town.
Also, in the case of people depositing money, there is the only the main BSP building.
As a result, people stand for as long as four to five hours for deposits and withdrawals.
BSP must increase its staff or build two or three more buildings.
If BSP wants to open accounts for people with lower rates, it must also increase its services to match its offers.
