TEACHING and learning will be boosted at the Hohola Demonstration Elementary School in Port Moresby after its library was renovated by the Bank of South Pacific.
BSP Haus branch manager Donna Gavu said the renovated library was one of the 2019 community projects completed by bank staff.
“At BSP, we understand every one belongs to a community, and that the relationships we build with each of our customers bring us opportunities to help their communities,” she said. “As a part of the communities we live in, we would like to build relationships and strengthen our community involvement.
“I hope that our contribution towards the Hohola community today will make a meaningful and lasting change in this community.”
Head teacher Iia Ako thanked BSP and said the library would boost students’ learning.
“The library will assist teachers and also develop students and boost the level of teaching and learning in the classroom,” he said.
The library renovation project cost K25,000.
Since 2009, BSP has spent more than K4.3 million on 200-plus community projects.
