BSP steps with K15,000 to help auditors meet

PROMOTING good governance through accountability and transparency is a key agenda for this year’s Institute of Internal Auditors Papua New Guinea (PNGIIA) annual conference.
Bank South Pacific recognises the contribution of professionals in the internal auditors’ profession and therefore becoming a silver sponsor of the event by giving K15,000 towards the conference.
The conference will be held on Nov 8-9 in Port Moresby, with the theme, ‘Catalysts for economic growth, global opportunities and local challenges’. It aims to improve their ability to evaluate and organise for greater changes in investments for economic opportunities.
“BSP’s support for the PNGIIA conference is welcomed,” Institute of Internal Auditors PNG chapter chairman Pais Noki said.
“We applaud the bank for the continued support since 2005.”
The banks’ audit manager, Agnes Arua, said: “BSP is happy to support a professional body that promotes international standards of best practice.”
