Buai ban aims to create healthy environment for all
The National, Thursday January 16th, 2014
I AM sure that all civilised citizens fail to understand why an act of general hygiene and promoting good health and wellbeing of the people can be interpreted as taking away the rights to chew or earn a living.
This city, as the capital of the nation, belongs to all citizens.
Their interests and rights to a clean, healthy environment should also be considered, not just that of the minority who continues to ply a trade that creates filth and also promotes a possible outbreak of tuberculosis and other airborne diseases.
The threats made by so-called papa blo buai daka should not be taken lightly and candidates for Kairuku Hiri need not turn the issue to one of politics.
I say good on you, governor; stand your ground.
Let these promoters of filth and spittle whine and cry until the cows come home.
Be assured that all right-thinking citizens are with you.
