ANOTHER exciting football match is set for tomorrow at Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium in Lae between Buang FC and champions Toti City FC.
City narrowly escaped defeat by Besta PNG United in the National Soccer League opener last weekend and are all fired up to face Buang FC.
With a win under their wings, the Peter Gunemba side is set for the game. Gunemba said the club’s new recruit Tutizama Tanito arrived yesterday and together with Clement Willies would take the field while fellow Solomon Islander Andrew Rarangia, who was on the bench in the first game, will take field in the first 11.
He conceded that in last weekend’s game his charges were a complacent and let a little ego get in the way.
On the other hand, he was pleased with the youthful Besta side who gave them a good challenge to raise the level of competitiveness.
“As I have always said, the game must be competitive with all NSL clubs giving their best with the teams displaying high quality football for people to watch. So it’s an eye opener for City to take into consideration that teams are prepared and if we underestimate them it will be a tough challenge this season,” Gunemba said.
“After the first game the players have worked on their mistakes and we have talked to them. And in our training we have stressed more on defence.”
Gunemba said he did not know the quality of the Buang side but his side would give their best in defence and attack and would not underestimate Buang as they had good NSL players.
Buang, on the other hand under Coach Raymond Nasa, who is a former international, will not take the champions lightly.
Nasa is confident that his men will match City in all departments and give the fans a game worth watching.
The gates will open at 11am with adults paying K5, students K2 for admission.
Toti City sponsor Lae Biscuit Company will sell Toti biscuits and other products.
There will also be half time entertainment by the Lae Biscuit Company events team and all soccer fans and supporters are encouraged to attend.
