Build permanent bridge for Ningerum

I REFER to an article about PNGSDP’s K125 million CMCA impact project delivery (June 26).

I agree with all except one, “The Nupmo to Ningerum footbridge”.

The people do not need a lousy footbridge but a permanent bridge  that will cater for the whole Ningerum tribe.

We have sustainable commodities such as  rubber and cocoa.

But the rubber farmers have to carry 60-80kg of tapped rubber and walk about 20 kilometres to OK Tedi river bank to send their product via canoe to the buyers.

The last five years has been a waste.
