A BUILDING next to the Datec Centre at the Gordon’s Industrial area, in the National Capital District, went up in flames yesterday.

The building was identified as Negliw 89 Ltd. The fire was said to have started from a sawdust storage area. Negliw 89 does sheet metal, carpentry and welding.

Two witnesses said the fire started at around 4pm, at a time the day temperature was at maximum and no one was around.

The cause was not known although there was a suggestion that heat or an electrical fault started it.

The building is of corrugated iron and includes a toilet roll storage and sawdust storage area.
