THE new Supreme Court and National Court complex at Waigani is set to be completed as scheduled by the end of next year, says Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia.
“The building is the landmark court building in the country and it will include a standard court facility with high international standards in terms of design, function and operation,” he said.
“This project will be built on time and within the budget of K450 million.”
Injia said the judiciary had received good support from the Chinese government, China Railway Construction Engineering Corporation (CRCEC) (PNG) Ltd and the Papua New Guinea Government.
He said the purpose of the visit was show to the public that progress of the project was on track after 13 months.
“The third phase is the upgrading of the existing court facility to bring it to the standard facility and I believe that project will take us through 2020.”
