BUK Bilong Pikinini (BBP) children’s library, a charitable organisation that has been providing free education to underprivileged children in Lae, for more than two years, now needs help.

The school, located on the University of Technology campus, will be hosting a fundraising drive on Friday to raise money to buy uniforms, a brush cutter, water cooler and fencing materials.

Parents and nearby residents are welcome to support the children.

There will be a bring and buy and basket exchange on the day.

To start the drive, a candidate for the lord mayor’s seat, Joseph Mand, donated 100 T-shirts.

The school will print the merchandise and sell it.

BBP was established in 2007 and has so far set up eleven libraries.
