Bulldogs are minor premiers

 POPONDETTA Rugby League competition leader Bulldogs are minor premiers of this season.

To earn the honour the Doggies beat the Spiders 12-4 to end the season proper. They bagged the A Reserve and Under-19 minor titles as well.

The Bulldogs will now meet the Tigers in the major semi-final on Sunday, while Medics and Spiders clash.

The Bulldogs opened scoring with a try from Sylvester Be’e but halfback Farapo Makura failed to convert and the score remained 4-0 at halftime.

The second half was a thriller and Spiders were rewarded with a try to Simon Siro next to the upright to level the score 4-4. But the Bulldogs then went on a rampage in the dying moments to score two tries and win.

The A grade points ladder: Bulldogs 24, Tigers 22, Medics 21 and Spiders 13. A Reserve: Bulldogs 27, Medics 25, Spiders 20 and Tigers 15. U19: Bulldogs 33, Medics 22, Tigers 17 and Spiders 13.
