L&A Bulldogs stayed on top in the Moresby South Rugby Football League with a 16-10 win over the Joyce Bay Roosters at the Sir Bill Skate Oval, Kaugere on Saturday.
Bulldogs crossed through Obert Muri, Levi Katie and Saki Mark with Muri kicking two goals.
The Roosters fought back with two tries through Lare Larume and Ishmael Aima but did not have enough in the tank to take down the competition leaders.
In the other matches, reigning champions Warako Storm sent out a warning they are back to defend their title with a 16-4 win over 6-Mile Crow Dust.
The return of stars Benson Lapun from the Mioks and Muruks duo Maya Clark and Steven Mark boosted the Storm’s game.
Clubs are allowed to field up to three Digicel Cup players and players must play three or more games to play in the finals.
Results: Bulldogs 16 Roosters 10, Storm 16 Crow Dust 4, Dragons 16 Raiders 10, Southern Sons 10 Knights 5.
