EDA Ranu has come on board as major sponsor of the Bomana Bullets teams participating in the Pacific MMI Insurance 2011 corporate snooker competition in Port Moresby.
The Bomana Bullets have registered four teams in the competition which include A, B, and C grades.
Eda Ranu will be sponsoring three of the teams while the fourth team in C grade, has acquired the sponsorship of private company, SED Optical.
Eda Ranu marketing manager Stephen Sallun presented a K5,000 cheque to Bomana Bullets Snooker Club president Nelson Chanei last month at the South Pacific Motor Sports Club.
Chanei said the club was happy to have four teams in this year’s competition and thanked Eda Ranu for providing the support.
“The Bullets have recruited well during the off-season while retaining the bulk of their players from last year. We look forward to a great season with high expectations from our players,” he said.
The Bomana Bullets A grade team comprises Kelly Yambi, Charlie Theseira, Mark Hosea, Steven Mala, Henry Kombil and Polin Kanamon to lead with new recruits Mari Kapi as skipper and police officer Joseph Morehari stepping up from B grade.
The B grade team, which lost in the grand final last year, are looking formidable this season.
They have also retaining the core of the team in skipper Chanei, Rigga Neggi, Richard Whitchurch, and Gabby Tikai.
New recruits in the side are former Yamaha media player Dominic Krau and Ida Keni, former SPMSC players Magea Pole and Kila Kapi, and 2010 C grade best and fairest co-winner Gideon Ikumu.
The Bomana Bullets C grade team comprises mainly Bomana-based police officers with the inclusion of Tomait Notassi and Ray Elson from SPMSC.
Sister team SED Optical Bomana Bullets look to provide strong opposition in skipper Peter Sea, who will be supported by Igo Andrew.
Sallun presented the uniforms to the participants at a presentation ceremony at the Bomana Police College officers’ mess last Saturday.
