The Mountain Bulls take on the Star Mountain 54 Bears in the Port Moresby Suburban Rugby League senior men’s grand final at the Kone Tigers Oval tomorrow.
THE Bulls, with experienced players in the Teme Brothers — Jerry and David of the Hela Wigmen — and Mendi Muruks’ Leonard Alphonse, will be looking put up a strong challenge against the Bears.
The Bulls scraped through to the grand final with a 10-6 win over the Marane K-Rats.
The winner will walk away with the shield and K8000 and the runners-up will receive K5000.
In the U20s, defending champions Waliya will take on rookie grand finalists Urunawini Raiders, with the winners to pocket K5000 and the runners-up to get K3000.
Alphonse will be determined to have a big day tomorrow to cap off a stellar season for the Bulls.
The Bears, who have made three grand final appearances in a row, will be equally determined to come out on top.
The Bears will need to tighten up their defence like they did against the Kiliton Falcons in the major semifinal last weekend.
They will be led by Port Moresby Vipers forward Ben Kennedy, who is expected to bring his Digicel Cup experience to the fore.
