Bulolo mayor tells cop to shoot his brother

BULOLO district mayor Jack Sheriff Nawi has taken it upon himself to bring in his brother dead or alive to face justice.
He has told police to shoot his brother.
Mr Nawi’s order was relayed to Bulolo police at the weekend.
His brother, Tom, and another man, Bill Wasanga, both from Sangriwa village in Angoram district, East Sepik, are wanted by police for the stabbing to death of Watut leader Amos Kupa from Ekopa village on New Year’s Eve.
Police said the duo were suspected of killing Mr Kupa at 5.10pm at Bulolo town’s Wara Supply compound.
A youth has been arrested in relation to the murder.
Bulolo is tense following the murder but Mr Nawi is keen to maintain peace.
“I have authorised the police to shoot to kill. He (Tom) has spoilt the relationship between the Watuts and the community at large.
“I can no longer tolerate such attitude.
“I am going my own way to hunt him and bring him in, dead or alive,” Mr Nawi said.
Meanwhile, Bulolo MP Sam Basil has urged everyone to maintain peace.
He appealed to Tom Nawi to turn himself in and urged the settlers in Wau and Bulolo to respect the law.
