BULOLO district development authority aspires to train people in various technical skills, health and education to return home and serve people in 110 wards within six local level government areas, MP Sam Basil says.
He said this when paying K31,500 to Wau Small Scale Alluvial Mining Training Centre manager Sydor Utaeo for the institution to train local alluvial miners. “We are determined to train skilled public servants who will never grow wings and fly away after attaining skills and knowledge, but instead return home and serve their own communities” Basil said.
“The training will empower people for progressive, profitable and sustainable mining to boost LLG economy and contribute significantly to country’s revenue.”
Basil said the Bulolo DDA continued to invest in human capital in technical skills and education facilities development.
Basil, Bulolo chief executive Tae Gwambelek and National Information and Communications Technology Authority officers Robert Griffin and Warren Suti also visited Baiyune, Buang and Grace Memorial secondary schools.
They assured the teachers of ICT of their support to boost students’ learning capabilities.
